It’s a really bad idea to publicly rage about filing a lawsuit, when you’re in the wee morning hours of a bender.

Especially when your statement admitted the reporting behind the lawsuit was accurate, but just misrepresented.

It’s like sticking a fork in an electric socket, as the media organization you have threatened is going to triple down on their reporting, while reaping a windfall of media attention and donations – before your lawsuit gets thrown out of Court at the earliest possible juncture.

Media Matters for America

Elon Musk has announced plans to file a substantial lawsuit against Media Matters for America and other organizations, alleging a “fraudulent attack” on his company.

This decision follows the withdrawal of ads from Musk’s X platform, previously known as Twitter, triggered by his engagement with antisemitic rhetoric on the platform.

On the same day, Media Matters, a liberal media watchdog group, released an investigation revealing major advertisers having their ads displayed alongside white supremacist content.

The exodus of advertisers from X, including prominent companies like IBM, Lionsgate, Paramount, Apple, and Disney, gained momentum.

Additionally, the European Union declared a suspension of advertising on the platform.

Musk’s threat of a “thermonuclear lawsuit” is a response to what he perceives as an orchestrated attack on his company’s reputation.
