Elton John and his husband David Furnish were called by Kevin Spacey’s defense team to testify in his London sexual assault trial. The defense aimed to challenge the credibility of one of the accusers with their testimony.

Elton John testified via video link from Monaco in the London court after David Furnish’s testimony. Furnish stated that Kevin Spacey was not at their Windsor home when the alleged assault in a car took place. Following Elton John’s testimony, character testimonials from Spacey’s acquaintances caused him to become emotional, shedding tears while seated in the dock at Southwark Crown Court.

One of the accusers alleged that Spacey assaulted him while driving him to the White Tie & Tiara Ball in either 2004 or 2005, causing him to almost lose control of the vehicle due to the force of the alleged assault.

In support of Spacey’s own testimony, David Furnish confirmed that the actor had only attended the event in 2001. He backed this up by reviewing photographs from the party taken between 2001 and 2005, revealing that Spacey only appeared in images from the specific year he claimed to have attended. According to Furnish, all guests were photographed every year, and Spacey was only captured at the event in 2001.
