A whole new press tour for a whole new movie with dozens upon dozens of interviews to give and somehow this A- list actress who also has a hit streaming show was once again not asked one question about the cult to which she belongs.

Reporters were told in advance not to or they would lose their access to other press events for other movies.

Elisabeth Moss

Scientology

Scene: TV queen Elisabeth Moss is finally heading up a big movie. She talks The Invisible Man, Scientology and relationships

IT’S a wet and windy February morning and Elisabeth Moss is sucking on a massive green juice in her hotel suite as if her life depended on it. She’s barely been in London 12 hours — have we already given her a cold? ‘No, I’m just tired,’ says The Handmaid’s Tale star. She couldn’t look less so. Pale blue eyes sparkling, Moss exudes radiance, from the top of her bright, Californian blonde hair to the neon-green tips of her black-polished fingernails (‘You like them? Ohmygod they’re so f***ed up and chipped, I need to redo them.’).

Moss is both one of the leading actresses of her generation and a total pro. She’s also, famously, a Scientologist (of which more later). Her belief weirds a lot of people out and makes me approach the 34-year-old slightly as if a third head will suddenly pop out of her tweedy grey blazer (worn as a hat-tip to England). However, aside from her Hollywood-bright teeth, Moss comes across as utterly normal and down-to-earth, happily chatting about the strings of gold bling around her neck like we’re old mates.

‘They’re really cool, right? This Dior necklace with the sun on one side and the moon and stars on the other? I bought one for me and my mom, so she has the same one,’ she says.

We’re here to talk about The Invisible Man which, incredibly, marks this Emmy winner’s first lead in a studio film.

‘The TV stuff and the movies I make are too weird for studios,’ Moss giggles. Her previous lead, for example, was in a direct-to-download indie, unattractively called Her Smell.

The Invisible Man, however, is a breathtakingly entertaining #MeToo spin on HG Wells’ classic novel. Moss plays Cecilia, a woman who escapes an abusive relationship. Her ex then commits suicide but she believes he’s still alive and terrorising her. Everyone tells her she’s crazy and it’s just post-traumatic stress. But could she be right? (Spoiler: probably, given the movie’s title.) – Source
