Olivia Rodrigo has responded to rumors suggesting that her chart-topping track “Vampire” may be referencing Taylor Swift.

The song, a number one hit released in June and set to be included on Rodrigo’s upcoming album, “Guts,” contains the following line:

“Bloodsucker, famefucker
Bleedin’ me dry, like a goddamn vampire.”

Asked about the rumors in an interview with The Guardian, Rodrigo said:

“How do I answer this?

I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about,” continued the 20-year-old singer. “I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.

I was very surprised when people thought that.”
