If anyone asks, they will say this actor had worked in the franchise for a long time and that he had done everything he could with the character and it was time to move on.

He didn’t want anyone else playing the character though.

He has threatened to come back to the franchise if they resurrect the character. If he makes a public fuss about it, then they may have to leak why he was fired in the first place.

Our actor actually was spending so much time in a city filming the franchise, he bought a house that once belonged to an A+ list singer.

This singer had multiple party rooms installed. Each of the rooms had a bed and bathroom and had a different theme.

It was all in good fun with the singer. Yes, there was debauchery to a level unseen in most lifetimes, but it was legal and consensual.

The story goes though, that the actor, who had cameras installed in the rooms, used them as prisons.

He called them dorms.

He forced his female domestic help to live in the rooms and recorded them 24/7.

He also drugged them and sexually assaulted them on a regular basis and would invite cast and crew to watch the recordings and allow them the same opportunity.

When word got out about this, they made the actor shut it down, signed cast and crew to iron clad NDA’s and fired the actor.

They allowed him to make it seem like he quit, but he was fired.

Nicolas Cage
National Treasure

Nicolas Cage and His Dark Connections with New Orleans

Nicolas Cage was also fascinated by the mansion’s ghostly past, so much so that he bought it. So, yes – Nicolas Cage did own the LaLaurie Mansion. According to our tour guide, Nicolas only spent one night in the house because he could hear all sorts of ghostly sounds.

These sounds and disruptions scared him too much to stay a second night. The following night, he rented a place across the street and let his friends have a party in his new mansion. I don’t know how true this story is since I don’t know Nicolas Cage personally. So, unfortunately, I can’t get him to confirm it. But it’s fun to speculate and think that the house was too scary for even a fan of haunted places.

Nicolas Cage didn’t own the mansion for very long. Shortly after, he claimed bankruptcy and the house foreclosed. It’s currently privately owned by a rich businessman from Texas and the house is unavailable for public visits.

American Horror Story first introduced me to LaLaurie Mansion and Madame LaLaurie, portrayed by the incredible Kathy Bates. I found out that the mansion was a real location and that Kathy Bates’ character was based on a real person.

Madame Delphine LaLaurie was a cruel woman who married a physician from France, named Leonard Louis Nicolas LaLaurie. Their marriage was a tumultuous and unhappy one which ultimately ended in Louis leaving Delphine.

This made her incredibly mad and she turned to torture her slaves by starving them and chaining them in the upper part of her house. Several horrible experiments were done to the slaves, such as breaking bones then resetting them in different positions, drilling holes into their heads and covering their bodies with honey and ants.

It wasn’t until one of Madame LaLaurie’s slaves fell to her death that the LaLaurie Mansion was investigated. During the investigation, all of Delphine’s slaves were set free. But, like something straight out of a horror movie, Delphine got her family members to buy back each and every one of her previous slaves, forcing them to return to the horror they’d briefly escaped.

It’s rumored that one of the courageous women forced to live in the LaLaurie Mansion as a slave set a fire that resulted in the townspeople discovering more about the horrors Delphine committed and finally driving her out of town.

Delphine LaLaurie was a vile woman who, unfortunately, was not truly punished for the disgusting cruelties she committed to the human beings she forced into slavery. What went on inside the LaLaurie Mansion is a horrible section of history that’s now part of New Orleans’ dark past.

Following its sordid past, the LaLaurie Mansion was briefly turned into apartments. But the horrors didn’t stop. Residents claimed the mansion was haunted and they could hear moans, cries, screams, and footsteps throughout. Then one day, the landlord was found brutally murdered in his room. During investigations, several people said he claimed to be haunted by what he referred to as a demon.

Strangeness with Cage

He got high with his cat

His feline friend, Lewis, got into the fridge and started chowing down on his magic mushrooms. Not wanting to let Lewis trip on his own, Cage munched on a few mushrooms himself. ‘I remember lying on my bed for hours and Lewis was on the desk across my bed and we just stared at each other for ours—not moving, just staring at each other, and I had no doubt that he was my brother,’ Cage told Letterman. He was also quick to point out he doesn’t do things like that anymore, just to make sure he doesn’t have PETA breathing down his neck. Oh yeah, Cage also said Lewis once said ‘hi’ to him. True story.

He Purchased Two Castles In Search Of The Holy Grail

During his spending phase, Cage became infatuated with finding the Holy Grail, purchasing two European castles for $10 million and $2.3 million respectively. Similar to his character in National Treasure, Cage became infatuated with the mythology surrounding the Grail and bought properties because his research led him to believe they might house the Grail. His quest led him to tasting the waters of the Chalice Well in Glastonbury and exploring Rhode Island, and when asked if he found the Grail, Cage told The New York Times, ‘What is the Grail but Earth itself?’ Sounds like a great idea for National Treasure 3…
