A TikTok video making fun of Scientologists became a recruiting tool for Scientologists

Jordana Victor, a 22-year-old criminology student in Canada, uploaded a video of herself on TikTok taking a Church of Scientology personality test on September 8th.

She said that she made the video in response to a viral TikTok featuring influencers like Charli D’Amelio and Lil Huddy showing off Scientology necklaces, which has since been deleted (the video appeared to be a prank pulled by fellow TikTok influencer Frankie Jonas, who claims to have found the necklace in a thrift store).

The video of Victor taking the test went massively viral, garnering over 2.5 million views over the past month.

As a result, members of the Church of Scientology have embraced the video, with one woman affiliated with the Church posting that it led to “several hundred” OCA tests being submitted to German Scientology centers.

Victor herself has also posted screenshots on TikTok of people affiliated with the Church DM’ing her with praise for the video.

The Church is now exploring using TikTok more as a recruiting method as the result of the success of Victor’s video. – Source

What is a Scientology necklace, and why are TikTok stars wearing them?

It all started when Frankie Jonas, the youngest of the Jonas Brothers, played a prank on a number of TikTok stars by asking them to pose with Scientology necklaces.

In a now-deleted TikTok video, he showed himself wearing the necklace and wrote “wear my Scientology chain and pose” before tricking a number of others to do the same.

Then, he added a photo montage of all the people he successfully managed to fool, including Charli D’Amelio, Lil Huddy, Noah Beck and Suni Lee, who are now all getting backlash for wearing the pendant.
