Morning Joe

Morning show hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski from MSNBC are not happy with their bosses. They’re upset because Ronna McDaniel, a former leader of the Republican Party, got hired as a paid contributor to NBC News. McDaniel, who’s been criticized for supporting Donald Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election, won’t be getting an invite to “Morning Joe” anytime soon.

Scarborough and Brzezinski didn’t know about McDaniel’s hiring until they read about it in the news. They strongly disagree with the decision because of McDaniel’s involvement in Trump’s attempts to overturn the election results.

McDaniel’s role in Trump’s alleged scheme to manipulate electoral votes has caused a lot of controversy. Trump and his allies, including McDaniel, were accused of trying to gather fake electors to declare him the winner of the election. Despite this, McDaniel claims she was misled by Trump and his team.

Brzezinski thinks NBC News should hire conservative voices, but not someone like McDaniel who she believes is against democracy. She’s disappointed in NBC’s decision and hopes they change their minds.

Although MSNBC’s president said McDaniel won’t be appearing as a contributor on air, some executives approved the deal with her. This decision has left many journalists at NBC feeling uncomfortable.

Chuck Todd, a former moderator of “Meet the Press,” also criticized NBC for putting one of his colleagues, Kristen Welker, in an awkward position by interviewing McDaniel. Todd believes NBC owes an apology to Welker and others for making them uncomfortable with this decision.
