Ariana Grande Fans Think The Weeknd Just ‘Robbed’ Her Of A Grammy

The friendship between fellow pop stars Ariana Grande and The Weeknd has long been a fan-favorite relationship.

The two first worked together way back in 2014, collaborating on Grande’s hit song “Love Me Harder.” Since, they have collaborated twice more, on Grande’s “off the table” and The Weeknd’s 2020 single, “Save Your Tears.”

But fans of Grande are beginning to turn on her frequent collaborator after he chose not to submit “Save Your Tears,” which Grande helped to boost to chart-topping success, for consideration at the 2022 Grammy awards. The Weeknd has previously expressed his dislike of the prestigious ceremony and vowed to boycott them in 2020, after being snubbed of any nominations for his critically acclaimed album After Hours.

Grande, meanwhile, picked up her second Grammy this year for her feature on Lady Gaga’s track “Rain On Me,” and fans of the songstress are expecting her to submit her recent album Positions for consideration in next year’s ceremony. However, her fans are nevertheless resentful towards The Weeknd for his refusal to submit a track that they are sure would have been an easy win for the pair.

One Twitter user wrote, “another undeserved loss for the ponytail girl” and another tweeted, “not him snubbing ariana from a 3rd grammy win.” For some fans of the former Nickelodeon actress, The Weeknd’s choice not to submit “Save Your Tears” even meant that Grande had lost her only shot at scoring one of the coveted awards next year. One wrote, “I get it, but this was my girl’s only chance at a win because they are going to snub the hell out of Positions… I hope she doesn’t attend.” – Source
