Many years ago, this permanent A list mostly television actor opened a bunch of restaurants in a very short amount of time.

This actor was one of the biggest television stars for decades.

All of you know him.

His restaurant empire crumbled almost immediately because of our actor.

Our actor thought of the waitresses at his restaurants as his own harem.

There was not a waitress at any of his places that he didn’t try to have s e  x with.

He had very strict instructions as to what each waitress needed to look like and had managers send him pictures of every new hire.

Because the actor was using the waitresses as his harem, the managers did the same thing.

There was not really s e x ual harassment claims back when they were open, but when a solid dozen of the waitresses got pregnant, their families raised hell and the crush of impending lawsuits and what would be horrible press for the beloved actor, he shut them all down after just a couple of years being open.

Andy Griffith

Mayberry Days

Andy Griffith, known for his roles in TV classics like “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Matlock,” also ventured into the food business. In the 1970s, he lent his name and image to restaurants called “Andy Griffith gooood eatin’ Restaurants” and a food brand boasting the same slogan. The restaurants opened in June 1970, with Griffith himself attending the grand opening of one in Raleigh, North Carolina. The menu featured barbecue, hamburgers, and fried chicken, with Griffith even offering a special deal: a free “Big Orange Drink” with certain purchases.

In addition to his restaurant venture, Griffith was the face of a canned beans and ham brand, promoting them as “gooood eatin’” in commercials during the 1970s. His image adorned the cans, and his signature catchphrase was printed on them as well. Griffith’s brand offered various types of beans, including navy, great northern, and pinto beans, along with black-eyed peas and meats, all boasting a “country style flavor” endorsed by the star himself.
