This foreign born A+ list tennis player has her very public ups and downs, but that doesn’t mean she can treat unpaid teenagers like she has been this week.

None of the other players like what they are seeing either.

Heckler makes tennis star Naomi Osaka cry during Indian Wells Masters

A heckler who shouted at Naomi Osaka at a tournament in California made the tennis star cry Saturday.

Osaka was playing Veronika Kudermetova at the Indian Wells Masters in Indian Wells, California, when a woman yelled out, “Naomi, you suck!”

The crowd jeered the heckler.

Shortly after the heckler’s comment, Osaka asked the umpire whether she could use the microphone to address the crowd.

“I just want to say something. I’m not going to curse. I don’t curse. It’s just weighing on my heart,” Osaka told the umpire.

The umpire denied her request, forcing Osaka to wait to make her comments until after the match, which she lost.

“I just want to say, ‘Thank you,'” Osaka said as her voice quivered and she appeared to wipe her eyes. “I feel like I’ve cried enough on camera. I just wanted to say, to be honest, I’ve been heckled before, like it didn’t really bother me.”

Osaka went on to say getting heckled at Indian Wells, where she had watched videos of Venus and Serena Williams being heckled, “went into my head and got replayed a lot.” – Source

Tennis doesn’t want Naomi Osaka around

Naomi Osaka loves tennis, but tennis doesn’t seem to love her back.

Osaka is in the news again, and again, it’s not for something she’s accomplished on the court, but for something that’s happened to her at her workplace. Over the weekend, Osaka lost 6-0, 6-4 in the second round to Veronika Kudermetova at the BNP Paribas Open. The world’s former No. 1 player didn’t have a good day. She got rattled after a woman screamed “Naomi, you suck,” during the first game of the match.

That’s not supposed to happen. Not because it’s Osaka, but because the “decorum” of a game like tennis doesn’t allow fan behavior in that manner. This isn’t football or basketball. Tennis is supposed to be sophisticated and elegant. Jeering from the stands is unacceptable. Yet, it was allowed to happen. Osaka requested that the fan be removed and even wanted to address the crowd, but she wasn’t allowed to do so until after the match. – Source
