Financial woes force Kanye West to part ways with rare oceanfront Malibu home — for a loss

Rapper and designer Kanye West, now going by the moniker Ye, is ditching his Tadao Ando-designed Malibu masterpiece for $53 million — a few years after splurging $57.25 million on the coastal crib.

Insiders tell The Post that a concoction of factors, including the artist’s shaky finances, played a key role in his decision to unload this unique oceanfront abode, even at a loss.

“Let’s just say the cash flow isn’t really flowing at the moment,” a source revealed, peeling back the layers of West’s motivation. “The renovations turned out to be a bigger hassle than expected.”

The music mogul acquired the beachfront property back in 2021 and embarked on an ambitious renovation project that remains incomplete.

Jason Oppenheim, of the Oppenheim Group and “Selling Sunset,” spills the tea, stating that the roughly 4,000-square-foot dwelling is in dire need of windows, doors, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and interior finishes.

Kanye West purchased a $1.5 million plot from Cornerstone Christian Church in Los Angeles earlier this year with the intention of relocating his Christian school, Donda Academy.

However, the building is now abandoned, with boarded-up windows, overturned shopping carts, and discarded trash. The original plan to use the space for Donda Academy seems to have faced challenges, as the building appears neglected and in disrepair.

Kanye West, also known as Ye, is planning to build a city in the Middle East called “YZY DROAM,” which is set to be 2.5 times larger than Paris and accommodate 100,000 people. YZY is actively recruiting professionals, including architects, engineers, and project managers, for the city’s development.

This is not the first time Ye has pursued the idea of building a city, as in 2022, he aimed to create a mini city called the Ye ecosystem.

The previous concept involved an autonomous community with Yeezy-branded houses and a sole supermarket exclusively selling products with the artist’s brand.
