Alyssa Milano thought her miscarriage was ‘punishment’ for abortions

Alyssa Milano used to believe that the miscarriages she suffered were “karmic punishment” for the abortions she had in her 20s.

“I definitely had this moment of, ‘Well, I’m being punished, basically, for abortions in my 20s,’” the actress, 48, told the “Me Becoming Mom” podcast on Thursday.

Milano added that therapy helped her overcome those feelings later in life.

“I didn’t realize that at the time,” she said. “It took a while in therapy to realize that that was something that I was putting on myself.”

Unfortunately, prior to seeking therapy, the fear of punishment spilled over into the early years of motherhood for Milano, who now has two children: Milo Thomas, 10, and Elizabella Dylan, 7.

“The way I interacted or was with my children — and I think this is common — but I always felt like, ‘What if something happens to these two little beings that I love so much?,’” she explained. “‘And is there a world in which they’re taken away from me for whatever karmic resolution needed to happen?’”

“I was not equipped to be a mother,” the #MeToo activist explained at the time, adding that she had the two abortions after getting pregnant while in a relationship and taking birth control pills.

“It was devastating,” she said. “I was raised Catholic and was suddenly put in conflict with my faith. A faith I was coming to realize empowered only men to make every single decision about what was allowed and what was not allowed. I had a career and a future and potential. And also, I suffered from sometimes crippling anxiety.” – Source

Alyssa Milano said giving birth reminded her of being sexual assaulted

Alyssa Milano is opening up about experiencing flashbacks of being sexually assaulted while giving birth for the first time.

During an appearance on People magazine’s “Me Becoming Mom” podcast, the former “Who’s the Boss?” and “Charmed” star recalled that being in the delivery room with her oldest child, Milo, now 10, triggered an “invasive” feeling that left her profoundly uncomfortable.

“I remembered at one point (while giving birth) really not enjoying the fact that lots of people had access to my vagina,” said Milano, 48. “And thinking to myself, ‘Why does— I don’t like this. Why does it feel so familiar? I’ve never had a baby before. Why does this invasive feeling feel so familiar?’ That was just a fleeting moment, a tick in time, but I didn’t forget about it.”

“After going through therapy after giving birth to Milo and remembering that one moment of feeling like I was being held down and had things being done to me that I didn’t want, to me, was very reminiscent of being sexually assaulted. And so it triggered all of these memories that I thought I had dealt with.”

She continued, “I think anyone who has dealt with trauma has the moments where you’re like, ‘Yeah, I’m fine. I’ve dealt with that,’ versus the moments where you go, ‘Oh, no, I didn’t. I just tried to tuck it away so no one could see them or I couldn’t see them or I couldn’t see them or feel them anymore.'” – Source

Baby Jack will always have a special place in Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s family.

The model and her musician husband experienced the pregnancy loss a year ago after a delivery at 20 weeks. Teigen was diagnosed with a partial placental abruption. She later shared on Instagram that she and Legend “had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.”

“We told them that we lost him, but it wasn’t really until we got his ashes back, I think, that they started to be able to say, ‘OK, this happened. Here he is now. He didn’t make it,’” Teigen said. “It was something for them to be able to put a story to, where we could say, ‘OK, Jack is in here and he is going to stay with us. Chrissy Teigen isn’t being cheeky: She’s opening up about plastic surgery she got on her cheeks.

The model and cookbook author posted an Instagram Story over the weekend in which she revealed that she’d gotten her buccal fat removed by celebrity surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond.

“I did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing here,” she said, touching her cheek on camera. “And since I quit drinking, I’m really seeing the results and I like it. Yeah, I did it, what?”
