Colleen Ballinger

a.k.a Miranda Sings

What happened:

Colleen, a 36-year-old YouTuber known for her alter ego Miranda Sings, has faced serious allegations in recent times from former young fans. Among these claims, one of the most shocking was made by a fan named Adam McIntyre, who said he received a pair of underwear from Colleen when he was just 13. Colleen later addressed the situation in a video titled “addressing everything,” where she admitted to sending the underwear but dismissed it as a “joke,” though she acknowledged it was a “completely stupid” move.

In addition to the underwear incident, Colleen apologized for old clips that resurfaced, revealing instances of her imitating a Latinx character with racial stereotypes alongside her sister, Rachel Ballinger. She also body-shamed an overweight woman seated next to her on a flight.

Furthermore, April Korto Quioh, a Black former employee on Colleen’s Netflix series “Haters Back Off!” from 2016, made public allegations of Colleen displaying racist behavior on set and proposing disturbing content for the scripts. April claimed that Colleen referred to the use of “POC background actors” as “distracting” and overheard Colleen using the N-word, boasting that a creator was being “canceled” for using it.

April also alleged that Colleen insisted on incorporating “incestual innuendo” in the show’s scripts, involving storylines with Miranda and her uncle Jim in compromising positions. This content made April feel deeply uncomfortable, especially when Colleen shared photos of happy children in her audience while discussing such explicit ideas for the show.

On the same day as April’s claims, a TikTok compilation showing Colleen’s past interactions with JoJo Siwa when she was 13 resurfaced, making some viewers feel uncomfortable. In one clip, Colleen, as Miranda, asked JoJo if she had ever “taken the pants off and seen what’s inside.” Colleen also made comments referring to JoJo as a “naughty little girl” who kept “twerking and hurting her tookie,” implying her crotch area. These incidents raised concerns among viewers about the appropriateness of the interactions between an adult and a minor.
