“For Your Consideration” (FYC) Advertising Rules & Regulations

ASIFA-Hollywood does allow some regulated advertising to its members via special “Stand-Alone” e-blasts during the pre-voting timeframe for the 51st Annie Awards season, from September 11, 2023 through February 3, 2024. Advertising arranged through and distributed by Houser PR carries content limitations. Please be certain that advertising materials conform to the following requirements, as non-compliance with these regulations will prevent posting:

  1. For Your Consideration advertising may incorporate a basic listing of the artist(s) who worked on the film and may include a brief, unembellished synopsis of the film.
  2. Ads may also include photographs, key art, or other graphics. Materials may use log lines.
  3. Award laurels, quotes from film reviews or references to awards or honors that the film or filmmakers may have received cannot be used.
  4. Ads may include information on industry screening schedules or notices of upcoming screenings, whether invitation-only or scheduled as part of a regular theatrical or streaming release, if the screenings take place prior to February 3, 2024.
  5. Distribution of bonus materials (books, makingof’s, interviews, premiums and other promotional items) are allowed only after the general Annie ballot has concluded (February 12, 2024).
  6. One Q & A panel is allowed per film provided they conform to Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and ASIFA-Hollywood requirements, as outlined below:
    • During the award cycle (from call for submissions through the general voting process), no promotional materials or anything of value may be given to members.
    • This includes any additional audio or video material, such as information about the making of the movie, additional Q&A’s, press kits, etc.
    • Only one virtual Q&A per film submission is permitted.
  7. All the above requisites also apply when advertising in consideration for music awards.
  8. All FYC announcements and advertising materials are subject to review and approval by ASIFA-Hollywood prior to posting.
  9. All FYC advertising delivered via ASIFA-Hollywood to its members shall include a disclaimer with specific text noting that the posting is sponsored and does not constitute or imply an ASIFA-Hollywood or Annie Awards recommendation or endorsement.
