Actor is pleading poverty

The north of the border former host/former bad actor is pleading poverty to get his ex to pay him spousal and child support.

Dean McDermott and his new flame, Lily Calo, hit the town for a double date after a peculiar trip to the welfare office. Yep, you heard it right—love is in the air, and so are white envelopes. They were spotted last week holding hands on their way to the Department of Social Services in LA. Dean, armed with a stack of envelopes, and Lily, cozying up to her main man, tackled paperwork with all the flair of a rom-com.

After a 40-minute rendezvous at the government office, they emerged with great spirits, chatting it up with the locals. Meanwhile, Dean, the former “Chopped Canada” host, is living the sitcom life with four roommates in a five-bedroom rental home in the San Fernando Valley post his split from Tori Spelling.
