Just a few hours after my blind item yesterday about the elderly rapist comedian, he made an announcement confirming the blind.

A comic who hated him for years and years and made him the subject of a long bit in one of his movies, is permanently A list now and is offering to go on tour with the comic.

What is happening here?

Bill Cosby

Eddie Murphy

Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy’s Never-ending Feud Reaches New Heights – Dec 2019

Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy have never exactly been friends. For years, the pair has been locked in a strange feud, with Murphy taking the occasional jab at Cosby on shows like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and at events like the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor ceremony. He continued the tradition on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, poking fun at the elder comedian—who is currently serving a prison sentence for three counts of aggravated indecent assault for the drugging and molesting of a woman—in his opening monologue. Now, however, Cosby’s rep is pushing back, releasing a bizarre statement in which he likens Murphy to “a Hollywood slave.”

“One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave,” Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesperson, said in a statement, per the New York Post. He’s referring to Murphy’s decision to return to SNL, the show that made him famous when he was just 19 years old. Murphy has not hosted SNL in more than three decades.

“Remember, Mr. Murphy, that Bill Cosby became legendary because he used comedy to humanize all races, religions, and genders; but your attacking Mr. Cosby helps you embark on just becoming click bait,” Wyatt continued in his statement. “Hopefully, you will be amenable to having a meeting of the minds conversation.”

Murphy has never been quiet about his apparent ongoing feud with Cosby, telling Jerry Seinfeld in a 2019 episode of Comedians in Cars that Cosby would lecture the comedian early on his career and was generally overbearing. “He had a weird thing with me that he didn’t have with other comics,” he said. “It was mean.”

“He wasn’t nice,” Murphy added. “He wasn’t doing that with everybody, he was doing that with me specifically. He was shitty with me.”

Back in 2015, Murphy also made jokes about Cosby in his acceptance speech for the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. “Bill has one of these,” Murphy said, referring to the award. “Did you all make Bill give his back? You know you fucked up when they want you to give your trophies back.” – Source
