The producers couldn’t find anyone when they were originally casting, and by hiring actresses, they can create whatever storylines they want.

‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Fans Think the Davis Family Is Giving Major ‘Cult Vibes’
After audiences watched the season 4 premiere of Seeking Sister Wife, they had major concerns about how Nick Davis controls his wives, April and Jennifer Davis. Some fans think Nick is giving off “cult vibes” and are concerned about Nick’s new potential wife.
On the June 6 episode of Seeking Sister Wife, TLC introduced fans to the Davis family from Aurora, CO. 38-year-old Nick has been interested in plural marriage for over 15 years. When April was in college, she met Nick; the two have been together for over 14 years. 24-year-old Jennifer has been in a relationship with Nick since she was 19-years-old.
Jennifer revealed that since they couldn’t all get legally married, she married April. She said, “We changed our last names to match Nick’s last name to show others how committed we are to this relationship.”
Also, there’s the sleeping arrangement. While they claim not to be polyamorous, Nick sleeps with both April and Jennifer in the same bed every night. – Source
