The mainstream news is finally confirming my theory that this former Attorney General had a big hand in the death of the alliterate A list actress.

Netflix Documentary Alleges Bobby Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe Fought The Night of Her Death

Nearly 60 years after Marilyn Monroe‘s shocking death, people are still trying to pin down what, exactly, happened on the night of August 4, 1962, when Monroe was found dead in her home at the age of 36.

Netflix’s new documentary, The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, which began streaming today, doesn’t exactly come to any new conclusions. Despite the somewhat misleading trailer and opening sequence, the film does not give any credence to conspiracy theories that Monroe was murdered, rather than overdosed on barbiturates in what was ruled a probable suicide.

But the movie, directed by Emma Cooper, does provide context that may be unknown to many viewers. The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe uses the real audio—reenacted by actors— from over 650 taped recorded interviews conducted by journalist Anthony Summer, whose 1985 biography, Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe, was a New York Times bestseller. Summer, who is featured in the film as a sort-of narrator, spoke to Monroe’s friends, co-workers, and even the private investigators hired to spy on her.

Several people that Summer interviews—including Monroe’s close friends and a private investigator who says he was hired by Jimmy Hoffa to dig up dirt on the Kennedys—say with confidence that Robert Kennedy was having an affair with Marilyn Monroe. Several say that she was also having an affair with John Kennedy, aka the President of the United States. Summer suggests a cover-up, not of murder, but of the fact that Kennedy allegedly was in Los Angeles on the night of her death, and had called Monroe, hoping to convince her to see him.

HOW DID MARILYN MONROE DIE?

Marilyn Monroe died of a drug overdose of barbiturates at her Los Angeles home on August 4, 1962. Because of the vast quantity of drugs in her system, as well as her mental state at the time, her death was ruled a probable suicide.

Nothing in The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe questions how Monroe died, but Summer does spend copious time questioning when she died. Summer found strong evidence to suggest Monroe died hours before the official “time of death report,” giving Robert Kennedy and his people time to remove evidence of the then-Attorney General’s connection to the pop icon.
