The fact the alliterate one originally only wanted her biography in a press release about an appearance she made with her husband at a public school is crazy, but not as crazy as bringing in props to a school so it would match what she was going to wear.

How about donating all the money you spent on the ridiculousness to the school.

The kids weren’t even allowed to tell anyone they were being filmed that day.

Not even their parents.

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited a New York school in 2021, the event involved thorough planning and a specific request for detailed consent forms.

The Duchess of Sussex, accompanied by Prince Harry, read her book, The Bench, to underprivileged pupils at P.S. 123 in Harlem on September 24, 2021. The school, where 95 percent of pupils qualify for free or reduced lunches, hosted the special occasion.

Before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s visit, there were numerous emails between Meghan’s team and Danielle Filson, the press secretary of NYC schools. The royal couple wanted a film crew to document the visit, suggesting the footage could be used in a future project, possibly a documentary.

It’s worth noting that the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation sent a release form that seemed to limit participants at the school from speaking publicly about the event without obtaining prior permission.

The release form said:

“I agree that without the prior written approval of (the) Producer, I shall not discuss this Appearance Release, the Material, the Project itself, or my participation therein with any third party prior to the initial exhibition of the episode of the Project in which I appear.

For the sake of clarity, I may not make disclosures prohibited hereunder via any social platform, website, or service, whether existing now or in the future.

All aspects of publicity and promotion for the Project shall be at Producer’s sole discretion. Neither I nor my representatives shall directly, or through any publicity representative or otherwise, circulate, publish, or otherwise disseminate any new story, article, book, or other publicity relating to Producer, the Project, my participation in the Project, or the subject matter of this appearance release.

I agree to not make negative, derogatory, or otherwise unfavorable statements about, or otherwise denigrate or disparage, any of the Released Parties.”
