This former A+ list rapper is hoping her pregnancy will get her another several month continuance in her ongoing criminal situation which doesn’t even have a trial date after two years of continuances.

Heavily Pregnant Cardi B Ordered To Appear For Court Hearing Despite Pleading With Judge For Permission To Skip

Cardi B, who is quite far along in her second pregnancy, is being forced to deal with a legal battle despite asking for permission to let her team handle it.

According to court documents obtained by Radar, a federal court judge has shut down Cardi’s plea to skip out on a scheduled settlement hearing.

The conference is scheduled for August 20. The Bodak Yellow rapper asked if she could be “largely absent” from the upcoming hearing. She asked if her lawyers could handle the matter for her.

Cardi is being sued for $5 million by a man named Kevin Brophy who accuses her of using his photos on her mixtape without permission.

According to court records obtained by Radar, the judge wasn’t swayed by Cardi not appearing for the Zoom saying all parties and their counsel need to be present for the entire conference.

Back in 2017, Cardi was sued by Brophy who accused her of using his photo on the cover of her 2016 mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1.

The cover has Cardi in the back of a limo while a shirtless tattoo-covered man has his face in her crotch. He says the cover was composed by using a photo of his back tattoos.

The man, who is married with kids, claims to have been “shocked, outraged, humiliated, and appalled” after first seeing the photo. He accuses the rapper of using the image “in a misleading, offensive, humiliating, and provocatively sexual way” which helped launch her music career.

In the suit, Brophy claimed he feared his wife would think he cheated on her. The man even claimed he had to explain to his son that it wasn’t him in the photo. – Source
