Speculation over the next actor to portray James Bond has surged after British tabloid “The Sun” reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a 33-year-old British actor, had been offered the role.

The Sun’s article, citing an unnamed source, claimed that Taylor-Johnson had been formally offered the iconic role, though there has been no confirmation from Eon Productions or Taylor-Johnson’s team.

This news follows years of anticipation regarding who will succeed Daniel Craig as Bond, with “No Time to Die” marking Craig’s final appearance as the famed spy in 2021.

Taylor-Johnson gained recognition for his roles in films like “Kick-Ass” and “Nocturnal Animals,” winning a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 2017. Other actors speculated to take on the role include Henry Cavill and Cillian Murphy, the latter of whom received praise from former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

Idris Elba has also been a subject of discussion for the role, with many suggesting him as the first black James Bond. However, Elba noted the controversy surrounding the idea, stating that discussions about race made the situation unpleasant.
