Brooke Shields revealed that President Donald Trump attempted to woo her by touting his status as “America’s richest man.” Speaking on Watch What Happens Live!, Shields shared with Andy Cohen that Trump made a practical pitch for them to become a power couple over the phone in the ’90s after his separation from Marla Maples.

“I was on location doing a movie and he called me right after he gotten a divorce,” Shields said. “And he said, ‘I really think we should date because you’re America’s sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man and the people would love it.’”

To Trump’s disappointment, Shields didn’t find his approach particularly appealing. She made it clear to Trump that she was unavailable, stating, “I have a boyfriend, he’s not really going to be happy about it.”
