“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Jennifer Fessler has been hospitalized for an impacted bowel, which she attributes to the use of the drug Ozempic.

Despite experiencing constipation, a known side effect of the drug, Fessler continued using it and neglected to address the issue.

She mentioned that Ozempic allowed her to eat without strict dietary restrictions and still lose weight.

Fessler previously hinted at using the drug during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in March, where she discussed significant weight loss attributed to “peptides” but remained elusive about Ozempic.

“I’m not afraid of Ozempic and I will tell you I have had an experience that was not good — and I’m pretty positive it was about the semaglutide — where I had to go to the hospital for an impacted bowel … and I’m still not nervous about it.”

Fessler explained that one of the “side effects” of the drug can be “constipation,” which she dealt with for a while but decided to brush off.

What is Ozempic?

Ozempic is a brand name for semaglutide, a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. These medications work by mimicking the effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels.

Semaglutide, or Ozempic, is typically prescribed to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is administered by injection and is often used alongside diet and exercise. In addition to its effects on blood sugar, Ozempic may also contribute to weight loss.

It’s important for individuals prescribed Ozempic to follow their healthcare provider’s recommendations, including proper administration and monitoring for any potential side effects. As with any medication, individuals should consult their healthcare professional for personalized advice and information based on their specific health conditions.

Fact: “Ozempic face” is a term for common side effects of the type 2 diabetes medication semaglutide (Ozempic). It can cause sagging and aging of facial skin.
