According to the north of the border singer, the celebrity CEO wanted to ban anyone on the bird app from sending any Tweet that had the name of this foreign car company.

Then someone told him a lot of people have that as their name and a lot of other reasons why it would not be a good idea.

Don’t be surprised if it is throttled.

He reached out to the money magazine to try and get a recent story about the car company killed.

Mercedes-Benz Drive Pilot: The Self-Driving Car Has (Sort Of) Arrived

I experienced the Drive Pilot self-driving system last week on a Los Angeles freeway, and it worked as described, allowing me to completely ignore the outside world. What defines a self-driving car? Well, from a legal standpoint it’s pretty straightforward. Specifically, if one of Mercedes-Benz’s cars is in Drive Pilot mode and an accident occurs, the human driver is probably not responsible. The car, and thus Mercedes-Benz, is. This is the first time an automaker is selling a car to the general public that makes its vehicle—not the human operator—liable for an on-road incident.

How is this possible, and how is it different from GM’s Super Cruise, Ford’s BlueCruise, or Tesla’s Autopilot, among other programs? Because those are all driver-assist technologies, meaning the driver is supposed to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. Yes, drivers often don’t follow either of those protocols, but the systems are also supposed to identify when drivers spend more than a short time (less than a minute, typically) breaking these rules before making visual and audible warnings asking them to re-engage with the car’s controls.

Mercedes-Benz’s Drive Pilot is the first system that crosses the boundary between “assisted” driving and “automated” driving. In Drive Pilot mode, if some specific circumstances are met, the car completely takes over, allowing the driver to take their hands off the wheel, feet off the pedals, and eyes off the road for an extended period. This means they can, for example, watch TV, read a book, or play a game with their passengers. Drivers must remain in the driver’s seat and cannot dramatically recline it, and they must be capable of retaking control of the car in 10 seconds or less. – Source
