This foreign retired athlete reached the pinnacle of his sport for a very short period a couple decades ago.

He won big a few times but had an erratic career.

He had a reputation as someone who liked to party both during his playing days and after and did not train hard enough.

What a lot of people aren’t perhaps aware of is he is has been involved in politics in his home country for quite awhile. While he himself has never said anything in public about it, the group he belongs to has supported the homophobic stances and legislation of that country’s government.

This is ironic because the ex-athlete has a close family member who also played the same sport and is also retired and was also quite good.

She is a lesbian and lives with another woman.
