This studio that also has a tour, but much much less famous than the one with the rides, is ramping up their IT department.

It makes sense because they do have a streaming service and an app.

They have outsourced the IT work to a SE Asian country that is a group of islands.

So, to save money?

Kind of.

The new IT department just works on developing AI programs to write television and movie scripts.

They are using the Spotify game as their base and every script has a writer’s name who doesn’t exist.

The studio does not want any AI language in the new contract, but if there is, they don’t think anyone will discover their little secret.

Possibility of Emotional Surveillance

Spotify received approval in January 2021 for a patent application it submitted in 2018. The patent outlines Spotify’s intention to offer personalized suggestions considering factors like emotional state, gender, age, social setting, and accent. This approval sheds light on Spotify’s future plans for emotional analysis in its services.

Spotify plans to enhance its understanding of users’ emotions by employing voice technology alongside user history and metadata. By utilizing artificial intelligence, Spotify aims to analyze pitch, intonation, and rhythm to accurately identify and attribute various emotional states to its users. This approach goes beyond relying solely on song or playlist titles to determine mood.

In addition to speech recognition, Spotify’s patent highlights the significance of environmental metadata. Enabled geolocation can provide information about your current context, such as whether you’re commuting, at a bar, or at work. By utilizing your subscription location, Spotify can also infer whether you’re likely listening to music in the comfort of your own home.

On the other hand, it can also identify a user’s audio environment inputs that reveal if you are listening alone, in a couple, or part of a group.
