Blake Shelton Says Wife Gwen Stefani Is Making Him More Spiritual

Fans of Blake Shelton may have noticed a bit more faith in his music lately, and on Friday (February 25), he admitted it’s no accident. It’s because of his wife, pop superstar Gwen Stefani.

Speaking with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton during the 2022 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Shelton told a crowd at the Omni Hotel that songs like “God’s Country,” “Bible Verses,” do in fact point his “emerging spirituality.” He’s been thinking more about it ever since he and Gwen got together, he explained.

“That’s very true,” Shelton said. “Thinking back to how Gwen and I fell in love and got together, that alone was all the proof I needed.”

Shelton and Stefani famously got together while they were both judges on NBC’s The Voice, and have now becoming one of the most beloved celebrity couples in the nation. It was an unlikely pairing since the two performers come from very different worlds — Oklahoma for Shelton and Southern California for Stefani — but they bonded because each was going through a divorce at the time. Shelton says now that Stefani is the family’s spiritual leader.

“She has such a strong faith in God, and if she was sitting here right now she would go ‘God, and then everything else. Everything else,’” he said, using his hands to show God at the very top. “That’s number one in her life and has been her whole life. She doesn’t beat you over the head with it, she would never do that, that’s just her relationship.” – Source
