Ben Affleck’s Batman Makes a Surprise SDCC Appearance

The official trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods includes a brief cameo of Ben Affleck’s Batman.

Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the trailer for the Shazam sequel sees the titular hero caught in an existential crisis. As he ponders his place in the DC Expanded Universe, he quickly mentions characters he believes are more impactful, including Batman. The trailer briefly cuts to a shot of Affleck’s Dark Knight as he broods atop a building. Shazam also mentions Aquaman and The Flash; while Jason Momoa is highlighted, the footage seemingly obscures Ezra Miller’s face but does provide audiences with a shot of his supersuit.

While Affleck has confirmed that he will appear in The Flash, it’s currently unknown whether the Dark Knight will lend a hand to Billy Batson in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Even if Bruce Wayne isn’t around, footage of the film that debuted at CinemaCon 2022 suggests that audiences will be able to see Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the film. Diana reportedly appears in a scene wherein Shazam is forced to end what is implied to be a romantic relationship between the pair before it’s revealed that Billy is simply daydreaming. – Source
