They presented an award to Paul Walter Hauser for “Black Bird.” Despite changes and controversies, the “Grey’s Anatomy” cast expressed gratitude for their dedicated fanbase as they enter their 20th season, becoming the longest-running prime time medical drama in TV history. Heigl, who won an Emmy in 2007 for her role on the show, left after Season 6, and her decision to not submit for an Emmy the following year generated controversy.
