Why Does Drake Keep ‘Befriending’ Young Girls?

Recently, fans have once again brought up the creepiness of Canadian singer and rapper Drake texting Grammy-winning and teenage singer Billie Eilish. In a Vanity Fair interview, Eilish stated, “Drake is, like, the nicest dude I’ve ever spoken to. I mean, I’ve only, like, texted him, but he’s so nice. Like, he does not need to be nice, you know what I mean? He’s at a level in his life where he doesn’t need to be nice, but he is, you know?”

This isn’t the first time that Drake has been seen getting a little too friendly with a young girl though. One disturbing video from 2010 shows Drake singing, grinding, and kissing on a fan of his while he was on stage, only for her to tell her that she is 17. After learning this Drake exclaimed to the young teen girl, “I can’t go to jail yet, man! Why do you look like that? You thick. Look at all this.”

Drake also had a few run-ins with dating young teenage girls he had met while they were very underage. In 2016, the Toronto rapper was suspected of dating Hailey Bieber who was 19 years old when Drake was 29. In 2018, Drake was suspected to be dating Bella Harris, she was 18 and he was 31.

Both of those girls, Drake met and started befriending before they were of legal age (Beiber at 14 and Harris at 16). While both times they were found to “not be dating,” but why was he so close with them that those rumors started?

Another high profile time that Drake was getting inappropriate with a young girl was when it was found out that he was texting Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Bown frequently. At the 2018 Emmy Awards Show, Brown talked about her friendship with Drake, “I love him. I met him in Australia and he’s honestly a great friend and a great role model. You know we text. We just texted each other the other day and he was like ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like ‘I miss you more,’ he’s great. He’s coming to Atlanta, so I’m definitely going to go and see him.
