With the kind of shape this permanent A+ list golfer is in, it wouldn’t be a shocker to not seem him again until the Masters next year.

Tiger Woods discusses his rehab: ‘More painful than anything I have ever experienced’

Three months after sustaining serious leg injuries in a single-car crash outside Los Angeles, Tiger Woods finds himself in a familiar routine: rehab, rehab, rehab.

“This has been an entirely different animal,” Woods said of the post-crash injuries. “I understand more of the rehab processes because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced.”

The rehab is focused on strengthening his right leg, which suffered traumatic injuries when he lost control of his vehicle on the morning of Feb. 23. According to a report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Woods was speeding when he crossed over onto the wrong side of Hawthorne Avenue and eventually struck a tree off the side of the road. Authorities said there was no sign that Woods was impaired while driving and declined to press charges in connection with the accident.

Woods’ injuries included comminuted open fractures to both his tibia and fibula bones in his right leg. Those required immediate surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center before he was subsequently transferred to Cedars Sinai and, finally, back to South Florida in mid-March to continue his rehab from home. Still unclear is whether additional procedures will be necessary, or if Woods can expect to regain full mobility and strength in his leg. – Source

Steve Stricker Drops Major Update About Tiger Woods’ Health and His Ryder Cup Participation

Tiger Woods is still recovering from his solo car crash, which happened in February. And now, almost six months later, Tiger continues to heal. Even though the 45-year-old is making progress, the U.S. Ryder Cup Skipper Steve Stricker has said he isn’t going to be a part of the Ryder Cup team this year.

Steve Stricker recently named Phil Mickelson and Fred Couples as the vice-captains of the team U.S. for the upcoming Ryder Cup. Moreover, he also gave an update about Tiger Woods. Stricker said even though Tiger won’t be a part of the team this year, he has been making nice progress. And this is what is more important.

“He’s just not able to be there at this time,” Stricker said of Woods. “He’s progressing nicely, but Whistling Straits is a tough place to get around. And he’s already been helping and will continue to do so.”

Moreover, Stricker concluded by saying Woods has been helping the team and will continue to do the same. Stricker was hopeful of Tiger’s recovery and wanted him to be a part of the team, at least as a vice-captain. However, sadly, as Steve himself said, Whistling Straits is a tough place to get around due to various reasons.

But the most important thing he said was that Tiger is progressing nicely. And if his words are to be believed, this is an excellent sign for Tiger and all the golf fans around the world. – Source
