This A- list actor/singer assured all his partners that he would get all his followers and all the people who think of him as their leader, to buy millions of dollars of products a year and that a MLM style selling system be incorporated too because his followers would be fanatic about signing up people and making sure those people sold product.

The actor was not going to put up any of his own money for any of this.

He said he had a huge name and the investors were lucky to have him.

They made some products to send out to reviewers at magazines and to influencers who were promised all kinds of access to the actor/singer, so they gave stellar reviews.

Later, they didn’t get any access at all but the reviews were out there.

Apparently, the products tested though were not the products that were ultimately offered for sale.

Apparently, also once the actor/singer got some money, he decided he wasn’t all that interested in motivating his followers to purchase the product or support the MLM thing, so the whole thing fell apart in just a few months.

Investors think celebrities can move product.

The vast majority of the time that isn’t the case.

Jared Leto

Twentynine Palms

Jared Leto, the man with the mysterious fountain of youth and the now-vanished skincare line Twentynine Palms. Remember when he tantalized us with the secret to his ageless glow, but promised to keep us guessing? Well, it seems the joke’s on us, and Twentynine Palms has pulled a Houdini act from the beauty shelves.

After a glamorous launch that even had Vogue and Vanity Fair raising their eyebrows, the brand’s website has gone silent, leaving fans more puzzled than a cat at a magic show. A concerned follower, took to Instagram, channeling aaaall of our frustrations (!), asking, “What’s going on with this brand? No product since April, and, above all, no reply to messages sent to Twentynine Palms account. It would be time to give some news, at least out of respect for your customers. I’m disappointed. It’s a real shame.”

But fear not, it’s not because Jared discovered the elixir of immortality in the Mojave desert. Nope, it’s the classic tale of a breakup. Leto and co-founder Jonathan Keren decided to part ways with their brainchild, citing reasons like breach of contract. It’s like a Hollywood divorce, but instead of alimony, it’s beauty products caught in the crossfire.

So, while the dream of getting your hands on the Mojave magic may be shattered, at least we got a front-row seat to the skincare drama of the year. Twentynine Palms, you’ve left our shelves, but you’ve etched your name in the annals of beauty lore. Until the next celebrity beauty venture, stay radiant, Jared.

PS: Keren’s LinkedIn profile states that he also exited his role as co-founder and CEO of Twentynine Palms long ago – two months after launch in December 2022.
