According to a new report, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) closed the missing person case for Shelly Miscavige, the wife of the Scientology leader, in 2013 based on the claim of a woman who said she was Shelly.

The LAPD did not properly verify her identity despite the woman’s fingerprints not matching and the surveillance footage of their meeting being mysteriously scrambled.

Shelly has been missing since her father’s funeral in 2007.

Leah Remini, a former Scientologist, reported her missing in 2013.

The case remains closed, and Shelly’s whereabouts are still unknown.

The report raises questions about whether anyone other than Remini is actively searching for Shelly.
