Brie Larson’s The Marvels experienced a lackluster debut, managing only $47 million in its first week at the box office. Its second weekend proved even more disappointing with a substantial 77.9% drop, surpassing Morbius in the decline.

The film, a sequel to Larson’s 2019 Captain Marvel, became a headache for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining a growing list of underperforming films.

Disney, the parent company of Marvel Entertainment, took notice of the film’s poor performance, prompting CEO Bob Iger to comment on the situation.

Unfortunately for Larson’s fans, Iger’s remarks did not sit well, marking a new low for the film. Despite various issues, such as subpar writing leading to plot holes and flaws, Iger attributed the film’s struggles to the company’s decision to prioritize quality over quantity.

In an X post she was asked about the next Captain Marvel appearance, the actress said, “There is definitely something that I would want to say, but I am not going to…”
