Mitch Winehouse Takes Legal Action Over Sale of Amy’s Personal Items

Mitch Winehouse, father of the late Amy Winehouse, is pursuing a legal case against two of his daughter’s friends, Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, seeking over £730,000 in damages. The court documents reveal that Mitch is alleging the two women profited from selling Amy’s personal property at auctions in 2021 and this year.

Mitch Winehouse, a taxi driver, is acting as the administrator of Amy’s estate and has brought the case to the High Court.

According to the court documents, it is alleged that Parry and Gourlay sent various items of Amy’s personal property to auctions, selling them in their own names and for their own benefit. The accusation is that the women “converted” the late performer’s belongings “to their own use.”

In the legal action, Mitch Winehouse is seeking £534,192.90 in damages from Naomi Parry and an additional £198,041.07 from Catriona Gourlay. The legal proceedings aim to address the alleged mishandling of Amy’s personal items and seek restitution for the estate.

The estate raised questions about how these items came into their possession and, finding unsatisfactory answers, initiated the legal process to clarify the situation.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation stands to directly benefit if monies are recovered from either defendant, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to preserving Amy’s legacy and supporting causes important to her.
