There’s always been a lot of talk about who the female star opposite Kevin Costner in a sequel to the romantic classic the Bodyguard would have been.

Princess Diana is often touted as just one of the stars being interested in the role. This A list singer, however, is the one that came closest, according to a producer-source that worked on the development.

‘She never really acted before and we had her come in and do a screen test,’ she recalls.

‘It was phenomenal. If only it worked out.’

Somehow our star found the strength to go on and is now a certified legend in the singing field, but we have to wonder, like our new producer-friend, what might have been.
