A Stranger Things Crew Member Has Accused the Duffer Brothers of Verbally Abusing Women
Matt and Ross Duffer, the sibling duo behind Stranger Things who are collectively known as the Duffer Brothers, have been accused of verbally abusing multiple women on the set of the hit Netflix series.
In an Instagram post shared on International Women’s Day — which took place on Thursday, March 8 — Peytonn Brown says she worked as a crew member on the Duffer Brothers’ highly-acclaimed series, but will no longer be a part of the project after witnessing verbal abuse on the set.
“I personally witnessed two men in high positions of power on that set seek out and verbally abuse multiple women. I promised myself that if I were ever in a situation to say something that I would,” Brown wrote.
She went on to reference Time’s Up, the movement and legal defense fund that seeks to end harassment in the workplace, as a call to arms for women in the industry to speak up about the abuse they may have endured. “We will rise and we will scream from mountain tops in support of each other and I will not contribute my time, efforts, and talent to such abusive people,” she added. “This industry is no longer led by a ‘few good men,’ but instead by an OCEAN of ASTOUNDING WOMEN. Enough is enough. For my sisters — Time is up. – Source
