Police got wind that the same people that put up the massive bail for this front page tabloid murderer are also going to help him flee even though they know they will be giving up the money.
One way to avoid that is to bring him right back in for something else.
Gareth Pursehouse is a 41-year-old California man who has been charged in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Amie Harwick
Amie Harwick’s accused killer faces new charge that could lead to death penalty
The obsessed ex accused of killing Drew Carey’s former fiancée was re-arrested just hours after being freed on bond — and hit with charges that could make him eligible for the death penalty, according to prosecutors.
Alleged stalker Gareth Pursehouse, 41, had been released Tuesday night after posting $2 million bond on a charge accusing him of throwing sex therapist Amie Harwick, 38, off a balcony at her Hollywood Hills home.
His freedom was short-lived, however, and he was re-arrested Wednesday on a no-bail warrant, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Pursehouse was charged with murder as well as first-degree residential burglary with the special circumstance allegation of lying in wait, making him eligible for the death penalty.
He is due in court Thursday for arraignment on the charges for “killing his ex-girlfriend by allegedly throwing her over a balcony at her Hollywood Hills apartment,” the DA’s office said.
“The defendant faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted as charged,” Assistant Chief DA Greg Risling said. “A decision on whether to seek capital punishment will be made at a later date.”
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, the DA’s office said.
