You know the tabloids had a lot of money back in the day is they were able to pay off 40 different women to keep quiet about their affairs with the foreign born former A+ list mostly movie actor.

National Enquirer

Arnold Schwarzenegger

During the trial related to hush money payments allegedly made to cover up Donald Trump’s alleged affairs, tabloid boss David Pecker testified that he had a similar arrangement with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Pecker, the former publisher of National Enquirer, disclosed that Schwarzenegger sought to prevent negative stories about him in exchange for being named an editor-at-large of health and fitness publications Pecker’s company was acquiring.

This agreement extended to other tabloids under Pecker’s control.

Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial bid in 2003 triggered calls from women with potentially damaging stories, which Pecker would acquire and hold, per their agreement. However, one woman eventually took her story to The Los Angeles Times, causing embarrassment for Schwarzenegger and sensitizing Pecker to such arrangements.

This predated the “catch and kill” scheme central to the trial against Trump, who is accused of orchestrating efforts to suppress stories of his alleged affairs. These efforts involved falsifying business records, including reimbursements to his attorney Michael Cohen. Manhattan prosecutors charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records related to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Pecker testified that an agreement made in 2015 included publishing positive stories about Trump and negative ones about his opponents, with Pecker acting as the intermediary for potential damaging stories about Trump.
