PART1: A deep dive on Dane Cook and his friendship with teenage girls 2016-2017

It focuses on how and when Dane actually met Kelsi. And Dane’s relationship with Kelsi’s former bestie Saxon Sharbino, who was 15-17 when she was hanging out with Dane.

Disclaimer: I do not follow Dane Cook closely, in fact I’m pretty sure I hadn’t thought about him in yonks. But after hearing he’s been with his 23 year old fiancée for 5 years, I decided to check in on Instagram to see what he’s been up to. I was surprised to see that much of his activities included parties with teenage girls in attendance. To be clear I do not think that he was necessarily romantically involved with all of these girls but his activities are definitely problematic and worth a closer look. I mean, being friends with one teenaged girl is already one too many, but I counted four.

Obviously if I miss things or get stuff wrong, please feel free to correct me. I am a regular commenter at r/DeuxMoix but decided to post this from a throwaway just to be safe.

Background: Dane likes to host game nights where he and his friends play mafia. He also likes having large house parties that last an entire weekend. I started looking at these photos because Kelsi was in them, but I slowly started to notice there were more teenaged girls that attended these events. April 2016 is the first time I spotted someone I recognized and knew she was too young to be there. It’s more than likely there are others that attended earlier parties, but a little of Dane’s Instagram goes a long way and I had to stop by 2015 for my own mental health.

To start off with here are the birthdays of those 4:

April 2, 2016 – Bella Thorne attends a game night at Dane’s house. She attends with her boyfriend at the time Gregg Sulkin. Gregg is five years older than Bella.

April 16, 2016 – Joey King attends a game night at Dane’s house. Joey and Dane appear to know each other through Joey’s sister Hunter King. Hunter is 5 years older than Joey and frequently attends the same game nights/parties with her, but not every time. Joey is also friends with Kevin Miles (Jake from State Farm who was 26 at the time), Amy Forsyte (who was 20) and Katherine Macnamara (of Shadowhunters who was 21). All three are friends with Dane and also attend game nights.

For most of 2016 Dane was casually dating Amy Forsyte. He maintained publicly that he was single, but from his photos with Amy and comments from his friends, they were definitely romantically involved on some level. It seems the relationship was over by January 2017.

April 23, 2016 –Isabelle Fuhrman attends a game night at Dane’s house. Also Noah Cintineo is there, he would have been 19 at the time.

April 26, 2016 –Isabelle Fuhrman attends a pool party which appears to be at Dane’s house.

May 21, 2016- Joey King attends game night at Dane’s house.

June 7, 2016 – Joey King attends house party hosted by Dane

June 11, 2016 – Joey King attends a game night at Dane’s house

June 18, 2016 – Joey King attends a game night at Dane’s House.

July 23, 2016- Kelsi Taylor likes one of Dane’s posts for the first time. After that, she is liking his posts frequently. Dane does not interact with her publicly on social media until the moment she turns 18 (more on that later). What I think is particularly interesting is that Dane says they met at a game night, but she doesn’t appear at one until early October. My question is why is she following Dane? The last time he was relevant, she was 7 years old. It would be quite the coincidence if this 17 year old girl just happened to start following him and then met him at his own house a few months later.

July 28, 2016 – Bella Thorne goes to a night club with Dane attends one of Dane’s comedy shows. Unkown if she is still with Greggg. “Sources” claim that Dane and Bella are just working on a film together. I have yet to find a movie that they both worked on other than Stuck on You. Bella was 5 and Dane was 30, and they didn’t share any scenes.

August 28, 2016 – Joey King and Dane attend the same pool party. I think it’s Dane’s house, but I am not sure. Looks like other kids with their parents are present, so it’s a family friendly gathering.

October 8, 2016 – Kelsi Taylor attends a game night at Dane’s house. She is 17 years old. This is the first photo of Kelsi and Dane together. It is unclear if they actually met at this game night, or a previous one that she was not pictured or tagged in. Dane says that they were “friends for a while” before they started dating. Everyone else there is mid 20s to mid 40s. There’s a rumor she met Dane through her dad because he was a friend of Dane’s, but that is unlikely. Kelsi’s dad is about 10 years older than Dane and is a physician in another state. I have yet to see Kelsi’s dad in a photo with Dane. So I have no idea who brought her or how she got invited. I can’t find any connections between Kelsi and anyone else at that party before this moment.

October 15, 2016 – Kelsi Taylor attends movie night at Dane’s house. Personally I find this photo that Dane took of her to be unsettling. She’s completely alone, while everyone else is in a group shot. She is still 17.

October 23, 2016 – Kelsi Taylor attends a game night at Dane’s house. She is still 17.

October 29, 2016 – Kelsi posts on IG for the first after turning 18. Dane likes it and it is first time he ever interacts publicly with her social media. Since she didn’t actually post on her birthday, it seems like Dane was following her before that then, or had been watching her account like a hawk. He like almost every one of her posts after that moment. Compare to how Dane with Joey King’s IG before and after she turned 18. He is liking and engaging with Joey’s posts before she turns 18 no problem.

November 6, 2016 – Joey King attends one of Dane’s comedy shows with part of the cast of Shadow Hunter.

November 27, 2016 –Bella Thorne attends a game night at Dane’s house. You can’t see her in the photo but he tags her. She has officially broken up with Greggg at this point.

December 17, 2016 – Joey King and Kelsi Taylor attend a game night at Dane’s house.

March 19, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor attends a game night at Dane’s house.

March 21, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor attends a concert with Dane.

April 11, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor is at Dane’s house.

April 15, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor attends a party at Dane’s house.

April 23, 2017 –Kelsi Taylor attends one of Dane’s comedy shows.

April 24, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor is at the house of one Dane’s close friends. (Same person as April 15 photo.)

April 30, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor watches Dane in American Gods at Dane’s house with Dane.

May 8, 2017 – Kelsi Taylor attends game night at Dane’s house.

Additional notes: It’s going around that Dane actually met Kelsi when she was 15, but I have yet to see proof of that. To be fair Dane has had a boy under the age of 18 at his game night before, he looked about 12 and unlike the girls discussed in this post, his parents were present.

Edited to add: /u/uhmbleh mentioned that Tracie Egan Morrissey did a deep dive in her Instagram stories the same topics. Obviously it’s much better and proves that there were more girls than what I discussed. I was just going by the people I recognized. She mentions Isaac Kappy (who was 39), Tyler Shields (who was 35) and Ana Mulvoy Ten (who was 25) as being frequent attendees of game night. I’d also like to mention Seth Green (43 at the time) and his wife Clare Grant (37 at the time) were also there a ton. Also Monib Abhat (who was 30), Vinny Fasline (who was 29), David Sullivan (who was 40), Razzle Dangerously (yes you read that right, he was 34), Carol Shiu (who was 29) and Richard Pollman (I haven;t confirmed his age, but likely was 45 or older in 2016/2017).

PART 2: Part 2 Dane Cook Deep Dive and His Friendships with Teenage Girls – Kelsi Taylor and Saxon Sharbino

After my last deep dive the question of how Dane actually met Kelsi was not settled. Dane says they met at a game night. Supposedly this photo from October 7, 2016, is from the night in question. What was odd was that I could not find a connection between Kelsi or anyone else in the photo prior to when it was taken. So how did she get invited? If Dane didn’t know her yet, she had to have come with someone or met up with someone there, and yet I cannot find a evidence that she knew any those people before she knew Dane. In fact I kind of suspect she had been talking to Dane for a few months previous.

Background: Two of Dane’s very best friends are Vinny Fasline are Carol Shiu. Vinny appears to have got close with Dane some time in early 2015. Since hen he’s a constant travel companion with Dane and has opened for him countless times. Carol has been friends with Dane for longer than Vinny and is his closest female friend. Both Vinny and Carol attend nearly every game night and house party that Dane has, Vinny especially.

On the surface it might not seem like a big deal, so here’s why I think that it is important. If Kelsi had just followed Dane and then started following his friends after October 7 , 2016, there was a possibility that she just happened to follow a famous comic and that meeting him was a coincidence. But I don’t think you can write it off as coincidental when she also starts following his two closest non famous friends before she supposedly met them on October 6, 2016.

But how did she and Dane start talking in the first place? It looks like their mutual friend was Saxon Sharbino.

Saxon was born June 11, 1999. She was a child actress and singer, as was Kelsi. They had been very close since age 13. This was not obvious at first because Saxon deleted the majority of Instagram pictures from 2012-2016, and from what was left it appeared Kelsi had never liked any posts or ever followed her. Her fan pages, however, saved all of those photos that Saxon deleted and if you scroll long enough you will see many photos of baby Saxon and baby Kelsi together. Also there are one or two photos left up on Saxon’s twitter.

I am not going to link to those photos, if it was Saxon’s choice to delete them, I am going to respect that. But if you want to verify, they are out there.

So if you look at Kelsi’s IG, you can see Saxon was liking photos and commenting from Kelsi’s first post in 2014 until July 22, 2016. Then there’s nothing until Kelsi posts this photo on July 2, 2017, which Saxon likes. After that, it appears Saxon unfollows Kelsi.

Saxon also had a pretty well documented history with Dane too. And just a reminder, her birthdate is June 11, 1999.

The timeline:

November 12, 2014 – Saxon attends one of Vinny’s comedy shows. The show is at Hollywood Improv, a club that Dane perform at often. Saxon is 15.

May 12, 2015 – Dane and Vinny attend the premiere of Poltergeist to support Saxon. Saxon is 15.

June 16, 2015 – Saxon attends one of Dane’s comedy shows (Hollywood Improv). There is a photo that I can only locate on fan pages that was of Saxon and her friends standing with Dane. I am going to assume it was the photo that this person was trying to link to, but was later deleted by Saxon. Saxon is 16.

April 23, 2016 – Saxon attends a game night at Dane’s house. Isabelle Fuhrman is also there. It’s when this photo of Dane and Saxon was taken. Also Saxon was inspired to make a spoooky little video afterwards. Saxon is 16.

April 26, 2016 – Saxon attends a pool party at Dane’s house. Isabelle Fuhrman is the one doing the back bend, and where and when this and this photos were taken. Originally I did not notice her in the group photo, because they did not tag her. Weird. Again, Saxon is 16 and Isabelle is 19.

May 7, 2016 –Saxon attends a game night at Dane’s house. Also Joey King is there too, I missed this night in my last timeline. The photo is posted May 8, but it looks like Saxon is wearing the same shirt in this photo that Dane posted May 8 and says it was taken the night before. Saxon is 16.

And that’s the last time Saxon appears at a party or a game night. November 10, 2016, she gives a shout out to Vinny and Dane on Twitter for their mannequin challenge video. But after that she continues to follow Dane well into 2017 and then unfollows him.

A few miscellaneous details: Dane never liked any of Saxon’s photos (or at least the ones that we can still see) but he did like photos of her and him together on her fan-run IG page.

If you didn’t notice Kelsi and Saxon never attend the same party or game night at Dane’s house. Once Kelsi is in, Saxon is out.

And finally, maybe it’s just me but Dane posting this one day and then this the next day is not a good look. Especially because the girl in that second post looks so damn young. Yes he has posted photos of young male fans, it’s the timing of these posts that are crazy inappropriate.
