It’s a question metro Phoenix music fans will have to take a bit more seriously than the last time they heard someone shout the goofy cliché onstage as Arizona races to reopen, despite compelling evidence suggesting that now would be the time to maybe tap the brakes a bit and see where this is going.

On June 12, Arizona saw 1,654 new COVID-19 cases, the most new cases yet reported in a single day.

That same day, hundreds of people visited clubs without masks on, even though Maricopa County public health officials recently urged individuals to take more vigilant action by avoiding groups, wearing masks and heeding other precautions in response to the recent spike in new cases.

Phoenix clubs and bars are reopening without clear guidance

Gov. Doug Ducey directed bars and theaters to close nearly three months ago in counties with confirmed cases of COVID-19. Local guidelines for reopening venues and clubs have been unclear at best, but a growing number of business owners have reopened their doors and booked live music.

Cactus Jack’s Ahwatukee Tavern reopened May 15. Gina Lombardi, who’s co-owned the venue for six years, resumed live programming with a “dinner seating show” by Crosstown Players on the first weekend dine-in establishments were allowed to reopen. – Source
