Back story: After her divorce from Blake Jenner, Melissa Benoist shared a heartfelt Instagram video revealing her experience as a survivor of domestic violence without explicitly naming her abuser. She described him as initially charming and manipulative, exerting control over her life and invading her privacy. While she didn’t mention his name, it became apparent to the public that the man responsible was likely Blake Jenner, as he was the only person she had been publicly associated with.
Following her announcement, Jenner disappeared for a while. He became inactive on social media. Nearly a year later, on October 2020, Jenner came forward with a statement:

Jenner disclosed that he underwent therapy to address the trauma and his actions. He acknowledged that their marriage was built on co-dependency, contributing to significant negative outcomes. He also confessed to experiencing physical assault himself.
In January 2023 he avoided jail time by entering a no-contest plea to latest DUI charge after being replaced in musical movie Merrily We Roll Along. Blake Jenner has pleaded no contest to Driving Under the Influence in a deal that will keep him out of jail.
