Aaron’s house sitter found his body in the bath tub and called authorities.
Aaron had tons of legal and substance abuse issues over the years.
Carter’s fiance, Melanie Martin, asked for privacy as the family grieves.
“We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality,” Martin said in a statement Saturday. “Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”
The 34-year-old singer was seeking professional help to prevent falling off the wagon after five years of sobriety.
The tattooed artist, who has survived more than 100 seizures from a “dusting” addiction, has spent $200,000 this year on care to make the couple a “fully functional family.”
In a previous interview Aaron said “there is no reason to hide” an addiction, explaining this is his fifth time in rehabilitation and he’s mainly focused on aftercare. “I haven’t had any relapses or anything like that, it’s just triggers are big right now for me [and] I want my son back,” he said.
He lost custody of son Prince (10 months) around September this year.
