This B+ list actress is being disingenuous about her recent activities this week. In the past she has stated she would not vaccinate her own child.

She just wasn’t expecting the huge blow back and didn’t talk to her team ahead of time.

But this week the actress found herself at the center of the raging political and public health debate over vaccinations after being identified in publications as the “latest celebrity face” of the “anti-vaxx” movement.

On Thursday, Biel took to Instagram to deny she opposed children being immunized. Two days earlier, she was in Sacramento with controversial anti-vaccination activist Robert F. Kennedy.

As Kennedy revealed to the Daily Beast, he and Biel were there to lobby against a state bill that would limit medical exemptions for immunizations for children attending public or private schools. Under the bill, the exemption would require approval from a public health officer.

On Instagram, Biel insist she was “not against vaccinations,” but in favor of parental choice.

“I support children getting vaccinations and I also support families having the right to make educated medical decisions for their children alongside their physicians,” she wrote.

Biel found herself at the center of this debate after she and Kennedy were featured in a number of photos posted online. As first reported by Jezebel, the photos showed them posing with anti-vaccination activists and multiple State Assembly and Senate members.

Kennedy is an environmental activist whose work has recently focused on alleging that vaccines are unsafe, a position that critics call “baseless” and is flatly rejected by the scientific community, according to the Hollywood Reporter and the Daily Beast.

Jezebel added that Kennedy recently was listed as an attorney for a group of anonymous Brooklyn parents who sued over a mandatory vaccination order, meant to combat a serious measles outbreak there.

In an Instagram post Wednesday, Kennedy thanked Biel for being “courageous” on “a busy and productive day.”

In his interview with the Daily Beast, Kennedy declined to align Biel with the anti-vaccination movement, insisting, as the actress did, that she is “for medical freedom.”- Source
