Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum says she and her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, are spending the next few months “deworming and de-parasiting” their bodies for the first time.
The 52-year-old supermodel revealed the unusual health plan during an interview, explaining that her social media feed has been flooded with content about parasites. “Everything I’m getting on my Instagram feed at the moment is about worms and parasites,” she said. “I heard you’re supposed to do this once a year. I’ve never done it, so I feel like I’m really behind.”
Klum admitted she has no confirmed evidence that she or Kaulitz have parasites, but said it’s common if you eat raw foods like sushi. She described the cleanse as involving pills made with herbs such as clove and papaya seeds, which she claims parasites dislike.
The model, who once dressed as a giant worm for Halloween, joked she doesn’t know “what the heck is going to come out” during the process.
Medical experts, however, caution against such cleanses. While certain herbs like clove and turmeric have properties that may help combat parasites, doctors warn there’s little scientific proof these treatments are necessary or effective for most people. Some ingredients, like wormwood or high doses of clove oil and turmeric, can even be harmful, potentially causing neurological or liver damage. The safest approach, experts advise, is to consult a doctor if you suspect an infection.
Away from her cleanse, Klum said she doesn’t follow a strict workout routine. Instead, she stays active through her daily life—running errands, doing fittings, and staying on her feet. At home, she swims in the pool and uses a trampoline for fun.
