Foxella has been around since 2013, and it means more to me than I can easily put into words. Keeping it running takes time, energy, and real costs, but it also gives me purpose and connection. If Foxella has ever kept you company, sparked curiosity, or simply given you something to read during a quiet moment, and you are in a position to help, I would be deeply grateful for any contribution.

The Handle Team

Despite his claims to the contrary, the celebrity CEO’s site keeps bleeding money.

It’s gotten so bad, if you were an early user with a desirable handle, but not many followers – he will seize your handle and sell it to someone else.

Elon Musk

X aka Twitter

Elon Musk’s platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, is now actively selling unused user handles for a substantial sum, starting at $50,000 and above.

Forbes has obtained emails indicating that a dedicated team, referred to as the @Handle Team, is spearheading the establishment of a marketplace for these dormant account names. Some potential buyers have reportedly received emails from X/Twitter, proposing a flat fee of $50,000 to kickstart the acquisition process.

Rumors about Musk’s intention to implement such a program have circulated for months. As early as November 2022, Musk mentioned on the platform that a significant number of handles had been claimed by “bots and trolls,” and he intended to begin “freeing them up next month.” A user even suggested a “Handle Marketplace,” where individuals could buy and sell accounts, with the platform taking a fee, although it’s unclear if such a system is currently in place.
