Another lawsuit piles onto Tyler Perry and this one is asking for millions
Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry is now facing a second lawsuit alleging s.xual* misconduct, adding new pressure as legal scrutiny around him intensifies.
The latest suit was filed by actor Mario Rodriguez, who appeared in Boo! A Madea Halloween. Rodriguez claims he met Perry in 2015 and that what began as professional conversations later turned into allegedly inappropriate encounters over the following years.
According to the filing, Rodriguez says Perry made unwanted advances during private meetings and that he felt pressured due to Perry’s control over casting and career opportunities. He is seeking $77 million in damages, citing emotional distress and lost professional prospects.
The lawsuit also names Lionsgate, alleging the studio failed to intervene or protect performers while continuing to work with Perry.
This is the second major legal claim against Perry this year. A separate actor previously filed a lawsuit connected to work on a television series, also alleging alleged misconduct. That case is still ongoing.
Perry’s attorney has strongly denied all accusations, calling both lawsuits baseless and financially motivated. Perry himself has not made a personal public statement.
As of now, no criminal charges have been filed. These cases remain civil matters and all allegations are allegedly claims that have not been proven in court.
