During the service, Jakes began shuddering, prompting immediate medical attention. He is now stable and under professional care, according to a statement from the church.
Jakes, a renowned pastor and author, founded The Potter’s House in 1996. With over 30,000 members, it is one of the most influential churches in the U.S. Jakes has also counseled former presidents and was a keynote speaker at Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration.
