R&B legend Brandy shocked fans in Chicago after abruptly leaving the stage mid-song during her and Monica’s The Boy Is Mine tour stop. The 46-year-old singer walked off midway through her 1994 hit Baby, leaving Monica to close the show solo, and the crowd demanding answers.
After frustrated fans flooded social media with refund requests and speculation, Brandy broke her silence, explaining she had been suffering from dehydration and dizziness after “weeks of nonstop rehearsals.” She said she felt faint and was advised to stop performing immediately, later receiving medical care.
“I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance,” Brandy shared, assuring fans she would return to the stage the next night in Indianapolis.
The unexpected exit ended the concert about 30 minutes early and left audiences disappointed they never got to see the duo’s iconic duet, The Boy Is Mine.
