With rare exceptions, don’t idolize celebrities.

This foreign born celebrity doesn’t care what you think about him.

He is A list and always will be.

He is getting a massive check and will ignore anything bad in the country he is promoting by saying it is not about the country, but about the sport.

Plus, after the bath his wife’s company took, they could use the infusion of cash.

Oh, and don’t forget how he used his name to escape being named in that illegal deal his soccer team made.

David Beckham urged to focus on ‘human rights abuses’ in Qatar ambassador role

Amnesty International has urged David Beckham to use his role as ambassador for the Qatar World Cup to “speak out” about the “deeply concerning human rights situation” in the host nation.

Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that Beckham had agreed to become an ambassador for Qatar that will see him be the face of next year’s World Cup.

On the reports, Sacha Deshmukh, Amnesty International’s UK CEO, said: “We urge (Beckham) to learn about the deeply concerning human rights situation in Qatar and be prepared to speak out about it.

“It’s not surprising that David Beckham wants to be involved in such a major football event, but we would urge him to learn about the deeply concerning human rights situation in Qatar and be prepared to speak out about it.

“Qatar’s human rights record is troubling — from the country’s longstanding mistreatment of migrant workers, to its curbs on free speech and the criminalisation of same-sex relations.”

The Qatar World Cup has come under intense scrutiny for the treatment of those working in the construction of stadiums, as well as the rights of women and LGBTQ+ individuals in the country — homosexuality remains illegal.

Deshmukh added: “Qatar’s mistreatment of migrant workers — the people whose hard work is making the World Cup possible — is especially disturbing. – Source

Victoria Beckham Focus On Price & Planet In Brand Overhaul

Victoria Beckham’s collaboration with The Outnet is focussed on positioning the brand as more accessible, affordable and sustainable. The 25 piece collection has been created using existing fabrics from the Victoria Beckham archive.

“This was an opportunity for us to reuse and repurpose excess fabric in a new, exciting way,” Beckham explains in an interview with British Vogue.

“We’re always looking for ways in which we can be more responsible with our collections and creatively challenge ourselves; this collaboration with The Outnet allowed us to do both of those things.”

Victoria Beckham entered the fashion world with a label launch in 2008, and is starting 2021 with a new direction as the Victoria Beckham and Victoria, Victoria Beckham brands will merge into one cohesive brand.

“It will bring our average price point down from over £900 to £550 without compromising the desirability, quality, and ready-to-wear aesthetic.” says Beckham.

The company’s CEO, Marie LeBlanc de Reynies, told Vogue magazine that the change in structure is due to a post-pandemic review of strategy : “We have used this time to look at how the market looks, our brand, and our community. We’ve come to a natural result, which is to bring the VB and VVB brands under a single umbrella”

However, there have been doubts expressed about the future viability of the Victoria Beckham brand. The Daily Mail reports that the Beckham fashion business has ‘racked up total losses of more than £46 million since it launched’ and could ‘face an uncertain future’ After accounts submitted in February this year, auditors warned of ‘significant doubt’ about the company’s ability to continue operating. – Source
